eLearning Helpdesk

Overview

Welcome to the eLearning Support webpage. Here you can find information on how to contact the eLearning support team for assistance. This page also includes links to tutorials Comets may find helpful.

There are several ways of contacting eLearning for support.

Note: Please do not message eLearning on Microsoft Teams. We are unable to respond to your message. Instead, please contact us using one of the methods listed above.

If you do reach out to us for assistance, please have the following information prepared:

  • Your name and Net ID
  • A detailed description of your issue, comment, or question
  • If relevant, screenshots showing the exact issue or error message

Providing this information will help speed up the support process for our representatives.

Tutorials and Handouts

Our website provides many tutorials and instructions on eLearning-related tasks such as setting up a test or creating an assignment. Faculty and staff are encouraged to review our Tutorials and Handouts page as well as our YouTube channel before submitting a ticket. It may be that your question has already been answered and detailed. If you’re still uncertain about something, please feel free to contact us.

Blackboard, the provider of eLearning, also provides helpful instructions and articles about its available tools for both instructors and students. You can review this content as well by visiting the links below.

Who should I contact for assistance?

UTD has two support department users can contact for assistance – the Office of Information Technology (OIT) and eLearning. Both eLearning and OIT support the UTD community, but each department has their own specialists and focus.

The eLearning Help Desk can assist with the following:

  • eLearning (including the mobile apps and Blackboard Collaborate Ultra)
  • Administering exams (and associated tools such as Respondus LockDown Browser or Honorlock)
  • Turnitin
  • Qualtrics
  • Clickers

OIT Help Desk, meanwhile, can assist with the following:

  • Login/password issues
  • Network issues
  • General computer-related issues/questions
  • Microsoft tools (Office 365, Teams, Stream)
  • Adobe tools

If you’re still uncertain about who best can assist you, feel free to contact either department. You will be directed to the correct department if necessary.
